Rep. John S. Mazurek
The School of Engineering and Technology’s 2003 Outstanding Alumnus
Rep. Mazurek received both his Bachelor of Science Degree and Masters Degree from Central Connecticut State University. His undergraduate degree, in Manufacturing, was in 1983, and his Masters, in Organizational Management, in 1990.
He has been employed with Pratt "&" Whitney since 1973. He started off as a Materials Test Engineer, and is presently a Materials and Process Engineer. He is also a State Representative to the Connecticut General Assembly for the 80th General Assembly District representing the people of Wolcott, Southington, Milldale, Marion and Plantsville. He is also currently serving as Vice-Chairman of the General Law Committee, member of the Banking Committee and of the Energy and Technology Committee.
Rep. Mazurek has served as President of the Wolcott Lion's Club in 1993-1994 and 2000-2001. He has also served on several of Wolcott's city committees, and also served as Chairman of the Wolcott Democratic Town Committee. Awards given to Rep. Mazurek are: Lion of the Year - 1994 and the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award - 1999.
Rep. Mazurek's objective is "to continue to contribute to the corporate goals of Pratt "&" Whitney through his work in the Engineering Department, represent with dignity and honor the citizens of Wolcott and Southington as he serves in the General Assembly, and to serve the less fortunate and his community through the good works of the Wolcott Lions Club".
