The Department of Biomolecular Sciences Joins the School of Engineering and Technology


The following is an e-mail message from President Judd announcing the creation of the Department of Biomolecular Science within the School of Engineering and Technology.

The Department of Biomolecular Science evolved from the Department of Biological Sciences and will be housed in the School of Engineering and Technology. Dr. Timothy Shine will serve as Acting Chair of the Department. The members of the Department are Professors Michael Davis, Martin Kapper, Thomas King, Kathy Martin-Troy, James Mulrooney and Cheryl Watson.

The Department of Social Work grew from the Department of Sociology will be housed in the School of Education and Professional Studies. Professor Patricia Hensley will serve as Chair of the Department. The members of the Department are Professors Patricia Hensley, Barbara Candales, and Catherine Baratta.

The emergence of these two new Departments and the expansion of their programs is evidence that the University continues to develop new and emerging fields of study to serve students and Connecticut.
