Program Description:
This exciting program is designed to prepare students for a variety of Quality Management positions in manufacturing and service industries. Graduates gain a solid background in the various quality system standards in use today. They acquire expertise in the use of numerous quality control tools and techniques such as TQM, team building, auditing skills and SPC while developing a practical working knowledge of the various 9000 quality standards. Graduates possess the knowledge required to lead and implement quality improvement efforts in a broad spectrum of business environments. Quality Management is an interdisciplinary profession utilized in all areas of business and industry - manufacturing, service, government, and health care organizations. Career opportunities in this rapidly growing field, are excellent as the demand for Quality Management professionals continues to increase. Students in the Quality Management Program receive instruction in both the technical and management foundations of this dynamic field. Graduates are trained in current practices and methods required by management for implementing and improving operational performance and customer satisfaction. Consumers have become more quality conscious in recent years and companies have responded by implementing quality systems such as ISO 9000. This implementation requires a great deal of coordination and human relations skill and this is where our graduates excel. Career Outcomes:Graduates of this program can look forward to numerous opportunities in a wide variety of fields. All production facilities are concerned with product quality whether they produce jet engines or potato chips; if the needs of the customer are not met, the customer will make his or her purchase elsewhere. While quality is often thought of in the context of product quality, the quality of service provided by service industries such as medicine and banking, have become a growing field. Our graduates have secured positions such as Continuous Improvement Director, Quality Manager, Quality Engineer, Quality Assurance Technician, Quality System Auditor and Director of Quality Control.
